2024-1 – Time and motion
For the first competition of 2024 in the revised 4 month format, the theme is “time and motion”. The aim is to find images that show the passage of time, or maybe just an instant, or movement
Inspiration
- The idea is capture motion or show the passage of time or an instant in time

- Long exposure
- Very short exposure!
- Multiple exposure
- Motion blur
- Clocks/mechanisms
- Panning

Title: Counting Floods

Description: This is a photo of a footbridge that consists of two planks that rest on a post in the center of the river and are attached to the bank. The special characteristic is, that it opens by itself at high tide and clears the way for the water masses. When the flood is over, the planks are closed again by the first walker who dares to do so. The post has been the same for decades and you can tell that it has seen many a flood. It is not days or months or even years that are counted, but the number of floods it has withstood.
